Masonic and non-masonic charities
supported by Royal Hanover Lodge 1777
Royal Hanover Lodge support many charities every year, all of which are voted and spoken of in our regular meetings. Many members take on personal challenges getting sponsored for their efforts, with fellow brothers supporting as well as the Lodge themselves.
Supporting public & Freemasons Charities are an important part of what we do. Freemasons give from their own means, doing what they can to support public & Freemasons Charities. Each year, The Freemasons' Grand Charity provides relief grants for hundreds of individuals who are experiencing financial difficulty, as well as donating millions of pounds to nationwide charitable projects and services.
Currently, there are four central Masonic Charities (CMCs), each of which offers a specific type of support to Freemasons and their families. They are:-
- The Freemasons’ Grand Charity, which supports Freemasons and their dependants in financial need.
- Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys, which helps children and young people from Masonic families in distress.
- Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, which provides residential and other care services for the elderly.
- Masonic Samaritan Fund, which offers access to a range of health-related services.
