The Royal Hanover Lodge No. 1777 has once again welcomed the next era of leadership, as W. Bro Leon Hubbard was formally installed as Worshipful Master at our recent Installation Meeting held at Cole Court, Twickenham, on Friday, 25th October 2025. With a strong sense of tradition, unity, and purpose, the Lodge looks forward to another successful year of Freemasonry, fraternity, and service to the community.

A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition
The installation ceremony was conducted with due and ancient formality, as the outgoing Worshipful Master, W. Bro Phil Malins, warmly greeted all members and guests before the proceedings began. With precision and dignity, W. Bro Hubbard was duly invested with the Collar and Jewel of his office, assuming his rightful place in the Chair of King Solomon. The assembled brethren welcomed him with the customary salutations, demonstrating their support and confidence in his leadership.
The evening was further enriched by outstanding presentations of the tools across all three degrees. Special mention must be made of Bro H. Rifai, Bro A. Macdonald, and Bro A. Willoughby for their eloquent and excellent deliveries.
Looking Ahead with Renewed Energy
With the Lodge’s fnew master in place, the year ahead promises to be both eventful and rewarding. W. Bro Hubbard is supported by a strong team of officers, including Senior Warden Bro A. Flynn and Junior Warden W. Bro M. Jennings, ensuring a steady hand at the helm. With the continued dedication of the Chaplain, Treasurer, Secretary, and Director of Ceremonies, we can be certain that the Lodge’s affairs will be conducted with diligence and enthusiasm.

Beyond our ceremonial workings, the Lodge remains committed to charitable efforts. The Charity Steward’s report highlighted generous contributions to the Poppy Appeal and United Churches Christmas Dinner, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to helping those in need. Additionally, our Almoner’s report underlined the Lodge’s unwavering support for our widows, ensuring that they remain connected and cared for as part of our wider Masonic family.
Strengthening Bonds and Building the Future
Socially, there is much to look forward to, including our Christmas Dinner and drinks at ‘The Brouge’ in Fulwell.
Speaking of new members, the Lodge is delighted to have an application from W. Bro Chris Penson as a joining member, which will be formally balloted on in January. As we continue to grow, we encourage all brethren to support our recruitment and mentoring efforts, ensuring that the values and traditions of Royal Hanover Lodge continue to thrive for generations to come.
A Message of Gratitude and Optimism
As we embark on another Masonic year, we extend our deepest gratitude to W. Bro Phil Malins for his service as Immediate Past Master. His leadership, dedication, and wisdom have left an indelible mark on the Lodge, and we are grateful for his ongoing contributions.
With W. Bro Leon Hubbard now guiding us forward, we embrace the coming year with enthusiasm, optimism, and a renewed commitment to the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Here’s to another fantastic year at Royal Hanover Lodge No. 1777!
