On Friday, 23rd May 2025, Royal Hanover Lodge No. 1777 marked a memorable evening that celebrated both achievement and gratitude.
The first highlight of the evening was the raising of Bro Darius Apanasikas, who joined the Lodge on 26th January 2024 after being referred by the Provincial recruitment team. Originally from Lithuania, and with English not as his first language, Bro Darius demonstrated the power of dedication and preparation. Through weeks of regular attendance at the Lodge of Instruction, he delivered flawless answers during the ceremony, showcasing the success of his commitment and the supportive environment within the Lodge.

The ceremony was conducted with distinction by WM Leon Hubbard PProvAGDC, assisted by two Past Masters—W Bros Matt Jennings and Chris Penson PPJGW—each contributing their extensive ritual knowledge to ensure a high standard of work. The younger brethren took charge of the floor work, signaling a bright future for the Lodge as many progressive roles will soon be filled by this promising group of light blue brethren.

The second part of the evening was devoted to a heartfelt farewell to our retiring Visiting Officer, W Bro Bill Ryan PPSGW. Having faithfully served both the Province and Royal Hanover Lodge for the past ten years, Bill has been a consistent presence—not only fulfilling his official duties with dedication but also warmly welcomed as a guest at many meetings.
As this was his final designated meeting, the Lodge took the opportunity to express their deep appreciation. Speaking on behalf of the Lodge, W Bro Michael Ross PAGDC presented Bill with an engraved glass plaque bearing the Lodge Crest, a fitting tribute to his invaluable service.
To further honour his contribution, the Lodge has issued a Notice of Motion to confer Honorary Membership upon Bill at the October meeting.
