The Deptherapy 24 Hour Charity Dive Day
Taking place on the 2nd January 2016 to the 3rd. Rotating divers through a deep pool for 24 hours for Deptherapy and Deptherapy Education because this therapy is very important in rehabilitation.
Deptherapy is an English based charity that presently seeks to rehabilitate seriously injured British Armed Services Personnel who have suffered life-changing mental or physical injuries, through the medium of scuba diving.
We also provide education in adaptive scuba diving techniques to dive professionals.

Scientific research has shown that scuba diving greatly assists those with the most serious physical injuries and in particular, it is exceptionally successful in reducing reported symptoms of Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
We are working with academic institutions in the UK in order to understand how scuba diving benefits those with both mental and physical conditions. Anecdotally we know from programme participants that the benefits are far-reaching. Chris Middleton who lost both his legs in an IED explosion says “Deptherapy made me the man I am today”. This is supported by Kevin Pryke who severely injured his knee whilst on operations, “Ask anyone who knows me Deptherapy changed my life”. Participants often talk about the programme giving them their pride back and as adding value to their lives.
